Where to Buy Curtains in Dubai: The Complete Guide to Custom Curtains

08 October 2026

This guide covers your main options, what to look for before you buy, and why so many families and businesses choose custom curtains in Dubai over ready-made ones.

Where can you buy curtains in Dubai?

1. Ready-made curtain stores and malls. These are quick and affordable, but sizes are standard. Dubai villas and apartments often have floor-to-ceiling windows, wide sliding doors, and unusual layouts. Ready-made panels rarely fit these perfectly.

2. Online marketplaces.Convenient, but you can't feel the fabric, check the true color, or confirm the quality. Returns on made-to-measure items can also be difficult.

3. Souks and fabric markets.Deira and Bur Dubai are famous for fabrics, and you can find beautiful materials. You will still need a tailor, measurements, and installation, which means coordinating several people.

4. Custom curtain specialists. A specialist measures your windows, helps you choose the fabric, makes the curtains to size, and installs them. For most homeowners this is the best balance of quality, fit, and convenience.

Why Custom Curtains Are Worth It in Dubai

Perfect fit. Made-to-measure curtains match your window width and ceiling height, so there are no gaps, no dragging fabric, and a cleaner finish.

Better light control. Dubai's sunlight is intense. Custom blackout curtains block light completely for bedrooms and media rooms, while sheer curtains soften daylight in living areas.

Heat and fading protection. Good lining and fabric choice help reduce heat gain and protect your furniture, flooring, and carpets from sun damage.

Style that matches your interior. From modern minimalist to classic luxury, you choose the fabric, color, pleat style, and track or rod to suit your design.

Smart-home ready.Motorized curtains let you open and close everything from a remote, a schedule, or your phone.

Types of Curtains You Can Buy in Dubai

Sheer Curtains in Dubai

Sheer curtains let in natural light while keeping a soft, airy look. They look good covered with heavier drapes and are appropriate for dining rooms and living rooms.

Blackout Curtains in Dubai

Ideal for bedrooms, nurseries, and anyone who works night shifts. Blackout curtains block light, help with sleep, and add insulation.

Motorized Curtains in Dubai

Popular in villas, penthouses, and offices. Motorization adds convenience and a premium feel, and it makes large or high windows easy to manage.

Curtains for the living room and bedroom

The living room usually calls for elegant, layered designs. The bedroom calls for comfort and darkness. A specialist can pair sheer and blackout layers, so you get both looks in one window.

How to choose the right curtains: 6 Quick Tips

Measure carefully or let a professional do it. Wrong measurements are the most common reason curtains look off.

Decide the purpose first: privacy, darkness, softness, or decoration.

Choose fabric for the climate. Look for quality that resists sun fading and wears well.

Hang them high and wide. Mounting the rod near the ceiling makes rooms look taller and windows larger.

Match your interior palette. Consider your walls, flooring, and furniture together. Many clients also coordinate curtains with wallpaper or carpets.

Ask about installation and after-sales support. The best curtains still need correct fitting.
